Enter the KRS number: 0000198645 into a designated section in your annual tax return form and the name and the surname of a chosen individual from the Uratujecie portal into the specific purpose section. The Uratuję Cię is a trusted charitable crowdfunding platform owned by Caritas Polska, that is why the same KRS number applies to both.
The Uratujecie platform is run exclusively by Caritas Polska and its branches, that is dioceses. It means that each collection of funds is verified by Caritas in order to ensure that the collected money will get to those who need them the most. Of course, donating 1.5% of your personal income tax to Caritas works in a very similar way as donating them to the Uratujecie platform, with one small exception which we mention in our instruction explaining how to donate 1.5% of income tax to the Uratuję Cię.
This platform works a bit differently from other popular online donation platforms. The main distinction is the verification process of individuals who want to start the collection of money. On the Uratuję Cię platform anyone can submit an application for that, however it goes through a very detailed process of verification. Thanks to that the money is provided to those who really need them.
The individuals whom you can support via the Uratujecie platform are people suffering from various diseases, very often the terminal ones, who need substantial funds to function independently or improve their living conditions. The collection of money is often related to expensive pharmacological treatment, surgeries, therapy or rehabilitation. What is more, you can also make donations to people who have lost all their possessions and need help to, for example, rebuild their houses.
If you want to support the activities of the Uratujecie fundraising platform, you should start by picking a ward. The first step is choosing a particular person you would like to help by donating 1.5% of income tax as a part of your annual personal income tax return process. If you only enter the KRS number into the form, without indicating a specific purpose, 1.5% of your income tax will get to Cartias Polska because, as we have mentioned in the introduction, Caritas is the owner and the administrator of the Uratujecie platform, so the KRS number of both is the same.
When filling in a standard income tax return form, you need to find the dedicated section to fill in. Depending on the type of form of your income tax return, the request to donate 1.5% of income tax will be located in a different field. Below, you can find a summary of where such a field is located on a particular type of the most popular PIT forms.
| Type of PIT income tax form | Sections to be filled in |
|---|---|
| PIT-37 | 151-154 |
| PIT-38 | 66-69 |
| PIT-28 | 253-256 |
| PIT-36L | 172-175 |
The first section mentioned above is always about the KRS number. In the second, you should enter the amount of money to be donated to the public benefit organization (OPP) (up to 1.5% of income tax) and in the following section, indicate the specific purpose. If you want to support the Uratujecie platform, you should enter the name and surname of a person chosen from the profiles published on the Uratujecie website there.
It’s much easier if you submit the e-PIT form. In such a case, the only thing you need to remember about is the fact that if you are one of many people who have already donated their 1.5% of income tax to a public benefit organization before, the fields specifying the receiver of the donation will usually be filled in automatically with the same information that was provided last year. If you want to change the organization that will receive the funds, these particular sections need to be edited. In any of these scenarios, donating 1.5% of personal income tax is a very simple process which can be completed in 5 steps:
The process of accepting the applications for setting up the collection of money is processed directly by Caritas Polska or one of its branches. The information about it is visible next to each of the collections of money published on the Uratujecie site. According to the administrators of the platform, starting a collection of money usually takes 2-3 days since the day when all the required documentation is provided. It is done through the verification process, which ensures that the collected funds get to those who really need them.
The application has to be submitted in writing and sent by post to the local branch of Caritas organization - preferably, the closest one. The following steps need to be followed:
The fundraising goal is calculated based on costs, e.g. the money needed for treatment or rehabilitation. The deadline of the collection of money is specified by the applicant and can be prolonged by submitting a special application to the Caritas branch which had accepted the application for organising the collection of money. The important aspect is that those in need can use the donated funds before the collection of money is closed. The money can be used based on the invoices or the original receipts and can be sent as the reimbursement or be transferred directly to the account of a person providing the invoice as, e.g. the payment for treatment.
