This year, again, we became a sponsor of a charity project – dragon boat business league in Gdańsk and competed to win the trophy. The goal of the fundraiser was the purchase of petrol for the medical staff taking care of little patients of Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice in Gdańsk.
A series of dragon boat races under the name of Dragon Boat Business League is an event organised by passionate sports fans. It has already marked its place among Tricity charity initiatives. It can be joined by employees of medium-sized and big companies, who form amateur teams, each consisting of 8 to 10 members, which compete by rowing the dragon boats. The races took place on the Motława River, where the teams competed over the distance of 150 meters.
JohnnyBros team actively participated in the league after undergoing professional training provided by one of the organisers - Smocze Łodzie KS Przygoda Gdańsk. The third edition of the event, which took place on 27 June in Gdańsk, was the second time when we participated in the event and decided to become one of its sponsors.
Corporate social responsibility is a very important aspect of JohnnyBros strategy, that is why we were happy to support this initiative, as the total amount of money collected during the race was donated to charity.
The collected funds will be spent on petrol for the medical staff that visit the little patients of Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice in Gdańsk at their homes. The institution currently takes care of around 40 such patients.
We would like to thank the organisers, the patrons, the participants and all involved in this wonderful adventure organised in a friendly atmosphere and positive competitive spirit.
